Southern Shrimp Cocktail with Cajun Cocktail Sauce
(Fresh, zesty, and with a little Louisiana kick!π₯)
Ingredients:
β 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined (leave tails on for presentation!)
β 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
β 1 lemon, halved
β 4 cups water
β Ice bath (bowl of ice water, for chilling shrimp after cooking)
For the Cajun Cocktail Sauce:
β Β½ cup ketchup
β 2 tbsp prepared horseradish (adjust to spice level!)
β 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
β 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
β Β½ tsp hot sauce (like Tabasco or Crystal)
β Β½ tsp smoked paprika (for that Southern depth!)
β ΒΌ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat!)
Instructions:
1οΈβ£ In a pot, bring 4 cups of water, Old Bay seasoning, and half a lemon to a boil.
2οΈβ£ Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and curl. Immediately transfer them to an ice bath to stop cooking. Drain and pat dry.
3οΈβ£ Mix all cocktail sauce ingredients in a bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste.
4οΈβ£ Arrange shrimp on a platter with the sauce in a small bowl. Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh parsley.
